Cynthia McKinney’s Wisconsin Campaign Events

Cynthia McKinney brings the Power to the People campaign to Wisconsin this weekend, starting Friday in Milwaukee and Racine, and Saturday in Madison and Baraboo, home of Fighting Bob Fest.

Friday September 5th, 10:30 a.m. – noon, there is a lunch & fund raiser at the home of United for Peace and Justice co-chair and Green Party activist George Martin, 3494B N. Bremen St., Milwaukee, WI 53212.

From there McKinney heads to Racine, a diverse community (20% African American, 14% Hispanic) of 80,000 between Milwaukee and Chicago. She will be speaking at 1 p.m. at Walden III, a progressive alternative school that is a model for egalitarian education.

After some media appointments at the Racine Power to the People office, McKinney heads to a 4:30 p.m. meet & greet fund raiser at Park Six (on the corner of Park and 6th in Racine) co hosted by the Racine NAACP and other groups.

Saturday is Fighting Bob Fest, an annual Chautauqua featuring progressive speakers, networking opportunities, and entertainment. 10,000 are expected at this event to hear not only Cynthia McKinney (who takes the stage around 10:15 a.m.) but also Matt Rothschild, Phil Donahue, Scott Ritter, Jim Hightower, Bill McKibben, Robert McChesney among others.

Later on Saturday in Madison at the High Noon Saloon (701 E. Washington Ave., Madison) there will be at toast to Cynthia McKinney with drinks, food, music by David Rovics. This is from 6 to 8 p.m.

The Wisconsin Green Party has formed a Power to the People Wisconsin Committee, with offices opened so far in Madison, Milwaukee and Racine. The four regional coordinators of the PTTP WI are Pete Karas (Southeast, Racine), Ron Hardy (Northeast, Oshkosh), Larry Dooley (Southwest, Madison) and Cindy Stimmler (Northwest, Dresser).
