From what I've read, Ron Paul supporters recieved about the same treatment inside the convention. If Dr. Paul truly wishes to reform the GOP, he has his work cut out for him. The Republicans are not tolerant of descent.

We are already living underneath a police state.

The opposition in the US is spied on, infiltrated, disrupted, kept off the ballot, brutalized in the streets and arrested on bogus charges. That is how police states act.

The arrests of protesters, our Green Party members, and now journalists, including Amy Goodman of Democracy Now! by police in St Paul should show clearly what lengths the right will go to to squelch opposition. Some of us occasionally wonder if we've made any difference in the politics of this country, yert what does this kind of action show but that those in positions of control are really afraid of a vibrant democracy where more than two corporate cash-fat parties exist?
Those who might still cling to the old Yankee belief that political freedom is unassailably pristine ("it can't happen here") have just got a wake-up call. It's happened. Here.
