Because the U.S. is overwhelmingly (or unofficially) a Judeo-Christian country, many people, politicians included, are reluctant to say anything against Israel. We’re afraid to demand that Israel ease the blockade; that it release the ‘Free Gaza 21′ humanitarians; that it stop committing crimes against innocent people. Would there be as much hesitation if it were another (Semitic) country committing the crimes, for example, an Arab country? Would the same indifference appear if the victimization were experienced by Occidental Europeans?

One website suggested that compounded guilt because of centuries of anti-antisemitism is what is now causing so many nations to turn their heads when they see Israel bullying someone else. I just can’t believe how little press these crises (i.e. the imprisonment of the Free Gaza 21 and the massacres in Gaza) have received in our country. The U.S. is a fair weather friend of justice and freedom!
