Well, the reason that the WFP endorsed him is that he’s the heavy favorite to win the Democratic nomination. In a nutshell, Thompson is a Democratic machine insider, while his opponent Tony Avella is a progressive outsider. Everyone says that Avella got the most applause and best marks at the WFP forum, but it’s unsurprising that the WFP leadership picked Thompson.

I hope the guy looses the Democratic Party’s nomination so he will end up running as a third party candidate.
