Ohio Green Party Central Committee Reports

1. Summer Picnic and face-toface meeting: Saturday, August 8th, 2009 from noon to 4pm at Blue Rock State Park just south of Zanesville, Ohio.

2.  November 2009 Campaigns

Dennis Spisak. is running for reelection to Struthers school board. He needs 25 valid signatures to appear on the ballot and has 52 already, the deadline for signatures is in Aug. He is facing opposition from a prominent Dem. and will let us know if he wants to do a GREEN WAVE event. All seats are at large and this is a non partisan race.
(note from Anita–No action was taken on this race but it is my recolection that the OH GP had endorsed Dennis on a previous call.
Dennis is one of our most active members and there is no doubt that will do everything we can to support his candidacy.

Cuyahoga Greens have endorsed Brian Cummins for Cleveland City council and proposed that he be endorsed by the GPOCC as well.
That proposal passed with no concerns. Brian is planning on attending our statewide gathering in Aug.

Cinnci. Greens have endorsed Jason Haap for Cinci school board and proposed that the GPOCC endorse him as well. That proposal passed with no concerns.

PEACE MOVEMENT:
Logan Martinez attended the Peace Conference in Pittsburgh and reported that there will be a national day of action against the continued war on  Oct 17. He will provide additional infor as he gets it.
