Today is the last day to file for the 2010 primary in IL.
There have been a number of “surprise” last minute candidates on the Green line. More on that later…
I see that the Greens in Illinois will have a contested primary for governor.
@Chicago Voter-
Well, I’m not so sure about that. The other person who filed for Governor as a Green is a white supremacist. And no, I am not just speaking in hyper-bole. Mayers had been found to vandalize Jewish and Holocaust videos at his local library.

He tried to get on the Green ballot line for Congress back in 2007, but was thrown off. That year he had challenged the petitions of McKinney, Obama’s, and several other petitions (of which all those challenges were thrown out)
This is a person who holds values that are antithetical to Green values.
Congrats to Tom Tresser and the IL Greens for getting over 2000 signatures.
I have no idea about this guys background but if he is a white supremacist, The Illinois Green party had better get out in front and make sure people realize that he is a rogue candidate so to speak. The capital fax, one of the premier political sites and news letters, in Illinois has picked up on his candidacy.
Thanks a BUNCH for the heads up Chicago Voter. I’ll be in touch with them right now!
Your welcome, I am not a Green, just a political junkie, but I had the idea of white supremacist getting any kind of legitimacy.
Chicago Voter…you’re always welcome here. :-)
Not sure why I showed up as Anonymous…the last comment was mine.
