Other candidates could learn something from reading Vince's statement. People are very dissatisfied, even angry, with government. We can, and should, take that frustration with corrupt, unresponsive elected officials and channel it into positive, reform-minded Green campaigns. The alternative is to let right-wing demagogues like Glenn Beck steer the disenfranchised into supporting reactionary causes. I especially like this line: "We may not agree on all the issues, but you will know my opinions were not for sale to the highest bidder." That shows a genuine willingness to reach out to people who aren't normally in the Green fold, but who might vote for a candidate simply because he's honest. This is very compelling stuff.
