Sweden’s Left-Green Alliance Promises Defense Cuts
    By Gerard O’Dwyer

    – Sweden’s Left-Green party political alliance has advocated a new round of “tough” defense cuts ahead of the country’s parliamentary elections in September.

The Left-Green alliance outlined its position in a shadow budget published May 11. The alliance, which includes the Greens, the Left Party and the Social Democrats, wants to shave $300 million off annual defense budgets, equivalent to 5 percent of Sweden’s annual spend on defense.

  2. As you look at those Sweden defense cuts of $300 million…

Realize the U.S. will spend $1.2 Trillion dollars on defense this year. That’s out of total U.S. federal budget of $3.2 Trillion.
