  3. “We need…”
    “We need..”
    “We need..”

Bravo Jill Stein…politics & marketing 101. Create a need in the listener/voter’s mind…or remind them on a NEED. Jill is direct. Lovely. Concise. To the point.

Every Green Party candidate could benefit from watching this…

  4. Green Party candidate for President doing very well in Germany.

Today is the vote. After 7 hours of the national meeting (Bundesversammlung) the Federal delegates–they are going into the 3rd round of voting.

In the first two rounds the Green Party candidate came in a strong second.

After a break – to get something to eat – the delegates will vote a third time.

Here’s how Spiegel in English is covering the story..

  5. Here’s good graph & overview of all the Green Party delegates and others…

  6. Here’s how Spiegel describes the Green Party candidate for President Joachim Gauck

There Is A Winner Here — Joachim Gauck

And then, of course, there is a question that would have been unthinkable only a few hours ago: What would happen if Gauck were to win?

Merkel’s power would melt away, perhaps in a matter of only hours or days, certainly within weeks. At that point, all the members of Merkel’s Christian Democratic Union, its Bavarian sister party the Christian Social Union, and the Free Democrats who didn’t want to be pulled along into the abyss would stage a political rebellion. That would include members of parliament who fear losing their seats as well as state governors who would face tough elections.

If that happened, it could spell the end of Merkel’s career in the Chancellery.

No matter how this day ends: Merkel is the main loser of the German presidential election. And even if he loses to Wulff in the end, Joachim Gauck will still come out of this a winner.

He showed that there is more to politics that just a game of tactics and strategy. He proved that you can also get somewhere in politics through charisma and credibility. He is a role model for a new kind of politics.
