Chicago Green Campaign Academy set for July 17th
Friends of Jeremy Karpen on facebook recently sent the following invitation to a Green Campaign Academy to be held in Logan Square, Chicago on July 17th:
“We will not win because we wrote a new blog entry, put up a poster or tweeted. We will win because we talked to our neighbors, face-to-face, and developed new, genuine connections in our communities.”

If you have a passion to win and the energy to work hard this summer, we want to empower you with the tools and know-how to do so. Join experienced organizers from across the state for a day-long canvass and outreach training for campaign managers, organizers, and volunteers. The training will include a comprehensive overview of citizen outreach, and materials and resources campaigns will need to win in 2010.
Attendees will participate in interactive workshops, in-the-field canvass training and advanced trainer trainings that will provide both a big picture and detailed understanding of canvassing. Participants will take home new skills and the opportunity to grow their movements with easy to replicate trainings and materials.
Please RSVP as soon as possible. We have a limited number of spaces. The sooner you RSVP the better.
Where: Green Party Headquarters (3044 W. Fullerton Ave, Chicago Il 60647)
When: July 17th 10am – 7pm
What: Detailed Schedule will be posted July 12th.
*We have found a committed core of professional facilitators who have offered to do the event pro bono. There is simply a suggested donation for lunch of $5-8. However, no one will be turned away lunch for lack of funds.
*Accommodations can be made for volunteers traveling long distances
