The Green Party of Philadelphia has three events in the next two weeks. First, they will be demonstrating against fracking on Earth Day. Next, they will be holding a monthly meeting. Finally, on May Day they will be having a community celebration. More details below.
Earth Day demonstration at the local Department of Environmental Protection:
Citizens opposed to gas drilling will hold an Earth Day Demonstration Against Fracking, at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday, April 21, outside the Department of Environmental Protection (DEP) office, Two Main Street in Norristown, PA.
The Earth Day demonstration is part of a series of events at DEP regional offices around the Commonwealth. The demands of the demonstration are: “Ban Fracking,” “Protect our Water,” “Protect our Environment,” “No Nukes” and “Clean Energy (wind & solar) NOW.”
This demonstration was called by the Green Party of Philadelphia, www.gpop.org, and it has been endorsed by Brandywine Peace Community, BuxMont Coalition for Peace Action, Citizens for Clean Water and the Green Party of Delaware County.
