Presidential candidate Jill Stein: 5 days to make Green Party history

June 25, 2012 in Presidential Campaign

Green Party presidential candidate Jill Stein is within reach of becoming the first Green Party presidential candidate ever to qualify for federal matching funds. However, June 30th is the deadline to apply for matching funds, meaning that Stein’s campaign needs to reach the threshold of $5,000 in 9 more states within the next 5 days. If Stein qualifies, every donation up to $250 will be matched by federal funds, giving a huge boost to her campaign’s capacity to win ballot lines and reach voters.

You can donate at the Jill Stein for President website.

Here is the latest update from Jill Stein’s campaign on the matching funds drive:

VIDEO: How matching funds fit into strategy

Strategy-of-Jill-Stein-for-President.pngThree new states are now 3/4 of the way to securing federal matching funds. Congratulations to Michigan, Ohio, and Virginia; you are almost there! These three states join Oregon and New Mexico near the finish line, and other states are making major progress too! Click here to see how our 15 priority states are doing.

With just over five days left to Double Your Green, campaign manager Ben Manski has recorded a short video explaining the importance of securing matching funds to the overall Stein strategy. See the video here: http://youtu.be/UFhqi2Ottnk

Please make sure you donate in this final week of our matching funds campaign. And please spread the word to people in key states — ask them to donate too!

  1. Seriously, you can sit around and cry about corporate money in politics, or you can actually do something about it and send a message that people-powered campaigns can fight back. Consider the matching public funding to be a clawback on the insane amount of money that our government will spend escorting the corporate candidates around the country spreading fear, uncertainty and doubt, and then giving them public airwaves for their so-called “debates”. Go to the website, donate a month’s worth of money you’d normally spend on high-fructose corn syrup, and then spread the word to friends in other states. Help this amazing candidate take the next step in getting her message out and achieving ballot access in some of the more difficult states.

  2. Green Party is growing and every little bit helps. The people’s party will grow as more and more Democrats, Independents and Republicans (who really love America) become dissatisfied with the status quo. I am seeing it with my own eyes; do not need a poll to confirm it.
