Jill Stein: A candidate goes to jail
August 16, 2012 in Presidential Campaign
Green Party presidential candidate Jill Stein has written an editorial in the Philadelphia Inquirer about her experience of being arrested and sent to jail with running mate Cheri Honkala following a protest against unjust foreclosures. From the article:
When I decided to run for president of the United States, spending the night in a Philadelphia jail cell was not part of my strategy. But I and my running mate on the Green Party ticket, Cheri Honkala, found ourselves in handcuffs this month after we refused to leave the Philadelphia building housing the regional headquarters of the mortgage giant Fannie Mae.
We were there to support two women whose families faced unjust evictions by Fannie Mae, as well as the eight million other families who have faced foreclosure at the hands of Wall Street.

As long we keep voting for either of those two worthless parties, the democraps or the repuli-cons, we’re going to continue getting what we have – corruption, lies, dishonesty and government failure…

As I come from the UK, I feel so strongly about environmental issues. Across from me here in a town called Morecambe, they are absolutely trashing a sports field to make an even bigger sports field. It is a haven for ecosystems as well as different sports games, so it up to the UK government to protect it for future generations.

Voting for the lesser of evils should be a felony conspiracy charge. One has openly committed treason, and the other is the first presidential candidate, ever to go overseas on a fundraiser, because its illegal to accept their money.
