Georgia Green Party to hold 2013 Annual Meeting in Atlanta 8/24

From the Georgia Green Party:

Saturday, August 24, 2013
from 1:30 – 5:30pm

The Georgia Green Party

will host its

2013 Annual Meeting

at the
Atlanta-Fulton Public Library Central Branch
One Margaret Mitchell Square
Atlanta, GA 30303

At this meeting we will:

  • elect members of the state committee;
  • elect members to the Delegation on National Green Party Affairs;
  • consider endorsements of candidates seeking non-partisan election;
  • consider proposed amendments to the Platform of the Georgia Green Party.

Although the exact schedule is still pending, we are excited to announce that we have confirmed the participation of Lt. Col (Ret.) Donna Lorraine Barlett, who served twenty-seven years with the U.S. Army Judge Advocate General Corps, including as defense counsel with the Office of Military Commissions. She will speak and answer questions about her experience defending the uncharged indefinitely incarcerated at the detention facility at Guantanamo Bay, Cuba, operated by the U.S. administration and presumably outside the jurisdiction of U.S. Courts and U.S.Constitutional protections. For some idea of what she has to offer see her USA Today op-edlocal copy.
