Rich Whitney for Governor: 151 days to victory!

Rich was on WSIL-TV Channel 3 on Tuesday and WJJG this morning. In the last few days of the tour, he had articles in the Alton Telegraph, was interviewed by the Du Quoin Evening Call and Centralia Morning Sentinel and his return to Carbondale was covered in The Southern. His surge in press coverage was mentioned in the Capital Fax. His radio interview with Chicago IMC’s From The Trenches and an article in Barrington-Courier Review from early days of the tour just came out this week.

Rich Whitney to travel Illinois by bike and train

Rich Whitney, Illinois Green Party candidate for governor, will travel across Illinois by bike and train in a “Sustainable Transportation Tour” from Thursday 20 May to Friday 28 May. Details and schedule below:

Green Party candidate Rich Whitney will be traveling across the state by bike and train. He’ll be joined at points by local candidates and other Green supporters. (pre-tour) May 19th: Rich will join the Chicago Ride of Silence at 6:30 pm, Daley Plaza.

DAY ONE: Thursday, May 20th
10:30 am Press Conference at James R.Thompson Center at 100 West Randolph Street, Chicago opposing eminent domain at Peotone prior to FAA approval/disapproval of an airport. STAND (Shut This Airport Nightmare Down) is organizing the press conference and demonstration. Featured speakers are Rich Whitney, Green Party candidate for governor; Brian Cann, Will Township Supervisor; Jim Tobin, President of National Taxpayers United of Illinois and George Oschenfeld, Green Party candidate for State Representative, 79th district.

It’s been a whirlwind of activity the last several months as Rich has traveled the state, holding joint events with green candidates, doing media interviews and talking with thousands of voters.

We  wanted to send these weekly e-newsletters to keep you informed & involved with the campaign.

On Wednesday, Rich and green candidates Dan Kairis, Scott Summers and Jack Ailey attended the huge rally in Springfield calling for comprehensive budget reform. Afterwards, Rich headed north to Crest Hill to speak to nearly 100 members of AFT Local 604. This weekend, he’s speaking to the Executive Board of UPI Local 4100 in Chicago. Continue Reading
