Green Party hosts People’s State of the Union livestream with Jill Stein, Howie Hawkins, Immortal Technique, Medea Benjamin, more

Watch TONIGHT! 2012 Green presidential nominee Jill Stein and running mate Cheri Honkala, 2014 New York gubernatorial candidate Howie Hawkins, Hip Hop artists Shamako Noble and Immortal Technique, Medea Benjamin of CODEPINK, physician and activist Margaret Flowers, and co-chair of the Denver Green Party and activist, Andrea Mérida, will join the Green Party’s “People’s State of the Union” Tonight, January 20 at 9pm ET on the Green Party’s Livestream channel (http://www.livestream.com/greenpartyus).

The guests will comment on President Obama’s 2015 State of the Union speech and offer Green ideas and visions for the state of the country, the economy, jobs and wages, the climate crisis, and the future. Viewers are invited to participate in an online chat on the Livestream web page during the broadcast.

President Obama’s State of the Union address, which begins at 9:00 pm ET, will be aired on our Livestream page. A chat box for discussion will be on the screen next to the live State of the Union video. After the President’s speech, Jill Stein will offer a brief overview before introducing the guests, each of whom will address the “State of the Union” from an area of key concern.

Viewers are encouraged to contribute questions via live chat that will be presented to the speakers in the last portion of the program, after their remarks.

Green Party US to host Election Night livestream show with guest Jill Stein

p Jill SteinThe Green Party of the United States will air an “Election Night Livestream Show” on Tuesday, November 4 at 8 p.m. ET / 5 p.m. PT.

The show will be broadcast on GP-TV, the Green Party’s Livestream channel (http://www.livestream.com/greenpartyus) and will feature live election reports and interviews with Green candidates, officeholders, and party leaders from across the U.S.

Dr. Jill Stein, the Green Party’s 2012 nominee for president, will be a guest on the show.

The show will also host a “Meetup” in the chat room next to the video feed for viewers to participate in a discussion of Election Day news and offer questions for the show’s guests. Randall Amster is an author, activist, and educator in areas including peace and ecology, including how nuclear power effects the environment. He lives in Arizona, where he teaches Peace Studies at Prescott College and writes for outlets ranging from academic journals to online news media. His partner is a Co-chair of the Green Party of the United States.


Marian Douglas-Ungaro is Co-Chair of Green Party’s International Committee and is a Washington, DC native. She’s a writer, editor, speaker, broadcast journalist and international consultant. Her family are survivors of the 1979 Three Mile Island nuclear accident. That event pushed her to work full-time in the U.S. environmental movement. In 1986, her alma mater, Penn State University, and U.S. Dept of Energy, produced her concept for a national teleconference for nuclear power plant technicians and engineers on the clean-up of the TMI nuclear plant. WASHINGTON, DC — The Green Party of the United States will host an online Livestream on Election Night, discussing Green campaigns and reporting election results as they are announced.  The public is invited to participate and join in a live chat during the Livestream.

The Livestream will be hosted by Green Party media coordinator Starlene Rankin in Sacramento, California, and Craig Seeman in New York City.  Ms. Rankin and Mr. Seeman will interview Green candidates, at their Election Night parties, and pass along reports about the campaigns.  The Livestream will begin at 8 pm ET, 5 pm PT.
