WASHINGTON, DC Green Party leaders called the acquittal of George Zimmerman in the killing of Trayvon Martin a miscarriage of justice and part of a pattern of evidence that the U.S. justice system is stacked against people of color and the poor.

We support the NAACP’s call for the Justice Department to file civil rights charges against Zimmerman, based on his violation of Trayvon Martin’s most fundamental rightthe right to life,” said Darryl! L.C. Moch, co-chair of the Green Party of the United States.
